The nightly activity when we are on the Cape is dinner and then a walk to feed the ducks. There are a bunch of ducks at a small pond up the street. We take the kids and head up there to let them feed the ducks. Often times there are also Geese and sometimes there are even a couple of swans. At one point I saw six pairs of swans on this pond. I haven’t seen that many this year but they do come around.
Earlier in the Summer there were little baby ducks with the group. They’ve since grown into more mature ducks and we can’t tell which ones were the babies anymore. Out little ones have grown up as well. They are really growing quickly this Summer. more confident, more intelligent. Just so much is changing.
This Summer my dad built a great play area for the kids. When we arrived today the kids got to play on the all new Rock Wall that he made for them. Andrew scrambled right up the very first thing when we arrived. He and Eva have been scaling that over and over any chance they get. Their cousin Dylan is not far behind. I expect that within the nest few years one of the kids will make their way all the way to the top of the shed. Like I used to do.
We have a lot of fun when we are at the Cape. The kids get to stay up a little later and have more than their fill of the water and the sun. even though we only get a few days each Summer we try and make the most of them.
