This Sunday is BratsGiving. It is a special day where you celebrate the gift of Johnsonville Brats. Johnsonville sent us a gift card and coupons to pick up supplies for a party. Tonight we had our friends over to try out one of the delicious recipes from the Johnsonville Grillers website.

We decided on the Lasagna on a Bun Burger. This was one delicious recipe. The recipe calls for the sweet Italian Grillers but instead we used the Steakhouse Onions instead. Allison made up the cheese mixture and more ahead of time. She also toasted up the French Bread so that once I grilled the Steakhouse Onion patties they would be ready to slide on the bread.

We had our good friends over for dinner and our friend Michele could not stop raving about how amazing a recipe this was. She asked for us to share it with her even before she finished eating. I told her that I was writing up a blog post that would link directly to the Lasagna on a Bun Burger recipe. If you premix all the parts then putting this recipe together on Bratsgiving will be super easy.

Speaking of Super Easy. I made a Beer Bath for my brats. I was in the mood for straight up brats and making a beer bath was a great way to make the brats. We chopped up peppers and onions and added them to beer and the brats. I think I’d like to try out the Italian Sausage Hot Tub recipe next time.

Our whole meal was perfection. The weather was just the right temperature. We had corn on the cob and salad along with the brats and the Lasagna on a Bun. Even our neighbors cooperated and weren’t out yelling obscenities at each other, a rare thing indeed. And then for dessert we made S’mores because it was National S’mores Day.
