Give Your Kids a Fantasy World

Photo-A-Day #2132

When I came home from work tonight I decided to make a Blanket Fort for me and Eva. Eva always wants to play with Daddy as soon as I get home and it usually consists of me playing as John Smith and she was Pocahontas. We end up sitting on the floor and she tells me how to play with the dolls. I’m more about reading stories to her so I did something special for her.

I brought pillows and Eva’s Shadowblaster into the Fort along with a few of our Barefoot Books. We read a story from the Barefoot Book of Princesses and the Barefoot Book of Fairies plus the Story Tree. We read by flashlight and laughed and she insisted in dressing in her princess dress and wearing some of her play rings. We read in there until Allison came home to discover our Blanket Fort. It was very fun, I’m going to have to learn more about blanket fort architecture and engineering.

  1. You can actually build a simple frame using PVC pipe, connectors, and bungie cord through the pipes. It allows would to fold down some of the pieces and make it compact yet sturdy. Think small greenhouse frame but portable.
