Today I got a HUGE delivery from STOK Grills. I got nearly their entire line of inserts plus a Quattro grill and sweet grill cover. I have been a bit obsessed with STOK Grills for a while now. I see them in Target and I stop and check them out. I marvel at all the different inserts that there are for the grill and I think of all the great grilling possibilities I would have if I had the system. So I began to pursue them online and offer a proposal in exchange for a grill and all the inserts.Well, they sent me nearly all the inserts and a new grill. Opinions of everything related to STOK Grills are 100% my own. So, be on the lookout for not only blog posts with recipes and mouth-watering photos of the things I will be grilling but also videos. When I’m done talking about this grill and all the accessories we will all be experts.
So what came in the mail today? Well, I got the STOK QUATTRO™ 4-BURNER GAS GRILL and I didn’t realize it but that came with a griddle, pizza stone and vegetable tray insert. I had also asked for those so now I can do two pizzas at once and tons of pancakes and breakfast food at the same time. Don’t even get me started about how many veggies I can prepare at one time.
I met the FedEx guy with a dolly and we put the grill right onto the back patio. I then took everything out and laid out all the parts, cut down the big box to use as a work surface, grabbed my toolkit and started assembly. I was home with Andrew and he wasn’t napping today so he was my “helper”. I am a bit obsessive compulsive and I have not had my very own brand new gas grill ever so I wanted to make sure that everything was done exactly right. That meant no scratches and other imperfections. I had to take tools away from Andrew over and over. Finally he got his plastic screwdriver from his outside tool bench and helped. At least with that he wasn’t going to hurt himself or scratch anything.
It took a while to assemble the grill but it wasn’t hard to do. Not at all. The instructions were easy to follow and all the parts fit perfectly. The one problem I had was my own. I put a screw in at the wrong angle and it got caught. I couldn’t screw it in further or take it out. Luckily it wasn’t completely imperative to have that screw in place and it was also inside and underneath the grill so no one will see it. But I know it is there, and it eats at me.
Once the grill was complete I placed a few of the inserts underneath on the brackets. I would be super excited about this storage system if only for the one thing that I’m not thrilled about with the STOK grill. The back side of the bottom is open. I’d much rather have it closed or even have a removable panel. If I was more handy I’d fashion one, that way my stored inserts would remain in good condition. Although I do have a great grill cover in the grill which provides some protection from the elements but might not keep the critters out.
Storage is a big deal with having so many inserts for this grill. I’m picking up a plastic bin to use to keep the inserts in when they are not being used. I’ll probably put that in the basement for the time being. We don’t have an outdoor storage container at this time. Maybe in the future.
So, now I have a completely finished grill with 4 burners that work so well. I grilled up some burgers and dogs for me in the kids tonight. But what about the future. What do you want to see me grill? What are recipes that you love? These are the inserts I have and I plan to do big breakfast once school is out and then also some very special Cherry Dr. Pepper ribs that I am making for a future post for Social Fabric. But what else. I have these options:
- Grill Pizza Stone
- Stainless Steel Grilling Basket
- Grill Chicken Roaster
- Grill Kabob/Rib Rack
- Grill Griddle
- Grill Vegetable Tray
- Grill Wok
With two separate spots for inserts I can see making dinner on one side and using the pizza stone on the other to make cookies for dessert. There are so many possibilities and I want to try them all. I also hope to eventually receive the Cast Iron Smoker/Steamer Insert for Grilling and Cast Iron Kettle Insert for Grilling. I have ideas for those items, too.
