Photo-A-Day #4053
I flew into Chicago today for the PBS Annual Meeting. This is something that I have attended for the past few years and I love. Each year there are some special events that take place and this year was no different. I actually got to do something that is sort of a bucket list dream thing for me. I got to voice a character for a cartoon. Mind you this is just for a fun thing and not actually to appear on TV but it is a step. I was able to voice Nature Cat from the TV show of the same name. This is a TV show on PBS Kids that was created by brothers, Adam and David Rudman. I got to meet both of them last year and the year before that got to meet David and Cookie Monster. David is the voice and puppeteer of Cookie Monster. Adam and David are also supremely funny people.
You can see much of the things that I did today in today’s vlog. I can’t show you the actual cartoon footage, however, because of possible legal issues, I think. But I do have me doing the recordings. After the vlog continue reading for more of today’s photos
I am here in Chicago with four other PBS Kids VIPS. They are Tee of That’s It LA, Michael of Art Crafts and Family, Coralie of Love Bugs and Postcards and Melissa of Dandelion Moms. We each got a chance to voice a different character from the show and it was so much fun to do. This was actually my second time doing voice over work in the same month but I’ll tell you about the first time another time.
After our recording session we went to dinner at Giordano’s Pizza. My driver from the airport told me that it was her first choice of best pizza in Chicago with Lou Malnati’s in second place. So, since I’ve had Malnati’s pizza before I figured that it was a good suggestion to try out Giordano’s, pleus they were closer and within walking distance of the hotel. We had a excellent meal together and then took a quick walk over to Millenium park.
We went to the Cloud Gate and that is where we got the group shot above (took it with the XShot). We also took a bunch of photos all around the place.
This was an excellent day. In addition to everything else I got to hear LL Cool J speak. Unfortunately I did not get to meet him. He was funny and fun, though.
I was sent to the meeting by PBS Kids. I am part of the PBS Kids VIP program and as such attend this event as a guest on behalf of PBS Kids. I am provided with an all expenses paid trip. I provide honest coverage of the event and promote those PBS Kids shows that run all year long.
