Photo-A-Day #4486
I took Andrew over to the beach today to fly a kite. I am pretty sure that I bought the kite around 2007 because that is when I think I was in Kalamazoo, MI. I got it from the airplane museum there and remember bringing it back on the plane and trying to get it into the overhead. The package for it was huge. It was overcast and cold and wet here today so it was a good day to finally take it out of the package and fly it.
We walked down the beach and were going to fly it there because we figured that there wouldn’t really be anyone on the beach and we wouldn’t disturb anyone. But there ere people there on the beach soaking up the haze. Also, as we walked along we saw some people flying kits on the beach and then they were told to take the kites off the beach. We continued on up the hill b the Casino and then went to the beach past the Casino that is not manned by lifeguards and where no one was using the beach.
At first I did all the flying. I was nervous of the kite hitting the water or going up into the hill, so I didn’t have Andrew flying it. He really wanted to fly it. I let him try a little while later and he did pretty good. The kite crashed a few times but overall it stayed up and flying. Then he got cold so we headed home. On the way there we went to the large ball field. It was empty so we flew the kite there for a while, as well. Andrew even flew the kite through a couple of loop the loops.
At night we went over to The Courtyard with Mom and Tara for dinner. It was a nice meal and they had decent sized portions for the food. They also do a great chowder. We went over that way because it was National Hot Fudge Sundae Day and we were going to have dessert at Somerset Creamery. I had a hot fudge sundae. Andrew did not but he certainly got into his ice cream.
Allison and I finally got a chance to watch Game of Thrones from Sunday. My new laptop makes a great little TV when needed.
