Macro Celtic Design

Macro Shot
Photo-A-Day #2161

Allison and I have a photo from our trip to Ireland in 2001. It is 2×3″ and in a frame with a Celtic design. I took my Kodak PlayTouch and attached the macro magnetic lens to that camera. In order to take a nice sharp photo I attached the PlayTouch to my Gary Fong Flipcage and also used my Sima Light to light up the frame for the shot.

Here is what the setup looked like.

The Gary Fong Flipcage is a fun product. You can set it up in a number of positions such as on its side so you can take really close up macro shots. I would never have been able to handhold the PlayTouch to get today’s photo.

  1. Hi. I stumble across you site looking for celtic design ideas.

I never thought that there is such a thing as a “flip-cage” to mount compact cameras. I just usually found tripods in camera shops. Now I know 🙂

    Thanks and more power.
