I received a digital code for MARVEL’s Avengers: Age of Ultron so that I could watch and review it. I have seen this movie a few times so far including watching it on my birthday back in April. But wait, the movie came out in May you say. Yes, I had the unique pleasure to be one of the first people to screen the movie and then I got the chance to interview many people from the cast and also director Joss Whedon and MARVEL President Kevin Feige. Here are links to all those interviews.
I have a series of Interviews with the cast and crew of MARVEL’s Avengers: Age of Ultron at the #AvengersEvent back in April.
- Ultron and Vision Throw Down
- Hawkeye and Agent Hill Take Aim
- Interview with MARVEL President Kevin Feige
- Interview with the Master Joss Whedon
- Interview with Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson
- Double Interview with Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth
I had also written a review of the movie. That was my impression of the movie after I saw it for the first time. I’m very familiar with the movies and the comics so I was able to catch all of the references that happen in the movies. Even though I got all the references I still enjoyed the bonus feature on the Digital Movies Anywhere extras called The Infinite Six and Connecting the Universe. These are excellent extras for the viewers who aren’t as familiar with the rich history of the Marvel Universe.
When we spoke with Joss Whedon he said that the initial cut of the movie was over three hours. While we will never get a director’s cut of the movie we will at least get some deleted scenes including one that explains a bit more about why Thor was in that pit. There is a longer scene with Black Widow and Bruce Banner in the farmhouse. That ends a little less hopeful than the scene in the movie. There was another deleted scene between the Maximoff Twins that had some foreshadowing and explained why they went to the church where Ultron was. The insight from those scenes enhanced my experience of the movie a bit more.
There is also a twenty minute behind the scenes video that was fun to watch. You get to see all through Avengers Tower and learn about the places where the movie was shot. Avengers Tower is pretty incredible. The entire behind the scenes video is tremendous and is important to anyone who wants to know everything they can about this fun movie.
