Photo-A-Day #4650
The storm today was called a Bomb Cyclone. I have never in my life heard that term. Now I figure I’ll be hearing it every year until the day I die. It is like El Nino and so many other weather terms. I swear that the Weather channel is just making up names for things.
While I was surprised that the snow had not yet started to fall as of 6am I knew it was coming. When the storm began in earnest it was crazy. The snow was very light but it was falling all over the place at a very high rate and then it was blowing everywhere. We were unable to see out of most of our windows because the snow had covered everything. This photo below was around 11am.
I ended up clearing out the snow twice. Once in the afternoon and then again before dinner. I clear both our yard and our neighbor’s place. It is her snowblower but I use it to clear her out.
the kids went out for a little while but all the blowing snow made them cold really quickly. they had me get out their snow toys and then proceeded to leave them out all over the yard to get completely covered. When I went out for my second pass I found a few of them.
We did have a nice day too, Allison made cookies, which is the tradition when we have a snow day. We also played a couple of games including Ship of Treasures and Yahtzee. Andrew liked getting a Yahtzee. That was all he wanted to do. He got a little obsessed. We also watched Happy Potter and the Goblet of Fire and then when I went out a second time they watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
