After yesterdays miserable wet and rainy day we weer happy to have a slight reprieve from that mess. The weather was cloudy but dry and we decided that we would head up to Hopkinton to visit our favorite hot dog ladies at Snappy Dogs. Today was opening day and it was a fun one. I ad contacted my sister, Shelby, yesterday and let her know that we were going up for opening day and asked if they would meet us there. Shelby brought her kids and the cousins had a fun lunch together.
As always Lisa and Teresa were gracious and warm and wonderful. Lisa was very concerned over what had happened with my Photo-A-Day project. She’s been following it for a long time now. I appreciated her genuine concern over how I was feeling about this project. I did share what the next project might be. I’ll reveal that when the time is right.
Lunch was delicious. I had my first Great Dane of the season. It is a 1/2lb Pearl Hot Dog with sriracha mayo, spicy slaw, banana peppers, mustard and dill pickle relish. It was so good. I inhaled it because it was so cold outside. We thought that we’d sit at the tables and enjoy lunch. Instead we scarfed down our dogs and shivered like crazy.
While we were there my friend C.C. Chapman showed up and I only got to chat with him a moment because of the cold. I thought that he and his daughter might come to the picnic tables too but they went to eat in their car, a smart move on a cold day like today.
When we left I wanted to take a photo of the kids at the trailer. Lisa invited Eva to come up onto the trailer for the photo. Eva was very excited. Andrew wanted to go up, too but he is too young. But I was able to get a cute photo of Eva with Lisa and then all the kids together in one photo below.
After lunch w visited at Shelby’s house for a couple of hours. The kids played well together. Andrew did not want to leave when it was time to go but we had to get home for a few things like Karate and Dance. He was very good at Karate and even Sensei mentioned how well he has been improving. I felt really good about that. Andrew is so excited that on Friday he gets to go to a full day camp to learn nun-chucks.
