Sometimes things come together really well when I am traveling. I get great photos, and awesome things to experience and blog about. But at the same time I don’t have the time to do the daily little things that I usually do like drop Entrecards on the SocialCardsters list. I do keep it maintained but don’t always have the time to stop and drop all over.
This past week Chica told me that my photo-a-day widget was not working. I finally got a moment to look into it and for some reason Buzznet just stopped working. So I’ve pretty much had it with them so I’m now going to post just to Flickr and I’ve updated the Photo-A-Day Widget to be fed by Flickr. And so that people don’t have to update the code again I’m making sure it is fed by the tag Photo-A-Day so they automatically update. So the new code is ready to go. I’m having some difficulty with the 5 image vertical one because the link to the blog looks funny and I can’t figure out how to fix it. But for the most part the code is ready to go. Now I have to contact all of the hosts to have them change their code.

Why not use your layout for the single photo widget?
I tried it with the one, didn’t work so well, but with the other one, it worked just fine.
I got the vertical one to look somewhat better on Ailurophile by putting a br / between “BenSpark” and “Photo-A-Day”. At least that makes it look more centered in my sidebar. I’ve been fooliing around with it a bit, and this is the best I can do for the moment.
No problems with the horizontal ones, though, they look just fine to me on the sites they are on.
I like the Flickr better than Buzznet all around, Flickr doesn’t slow down load time as Buzznet did. Good job!
Christine’s last blog post..Rabbit, rabbit!
Chica,
I’m not following exactly. Are you saying that I should put the horizontal and vertical ones in the same table format as the single photo? I’ll look into trying that. For the most part many people have chosen the single one, very few have the horizontal or vertical. I see you made the change on both of your blogs, thanks.
Christine,
It looks great on all your blogs. Much better than the example page I have. The vertical one is the one giving me the most problems though. I’ll have to try your trick of adding the
to the code.
I just wanted to stop by and check out your recent photos. It’s been awhile since I’ve visited your blog. I love the striped paper clips, wonder where I can get some? I’m glad you’re using Flickr for your photo-a -day feed. I have been very happy hosting my images there. Keep snapping away, I love your photos!
Tara’s last blog post..Lots of Fun Events in August!
Hi Tara,
It must have been a long time or at least your first comment because I had to approve it first. Thanks for the great comment and kind words about my photos. The striped paperclips can be found at your local Staples office store. Using Flickr as primary is a good move indeed.
