Being at home daily with an active and inquisitive three-year-old can be trying at times. Mostly, though it is very rewarding to be able to be present as my son grows up. He is a creative and active kid. He wants to do everything and he wasn’t to do it now. He especially wants to do crafts like his big sister. Well, I’m not big on making a mess and so when I got the opportunity to try out a couple of kits from PomTree I was excited. I received the PomTree Felt Puppy & Bone Pillow Puff™ Kit ($13) and the Mommy & Baby Bird Pom Pals Kit ($13). These two peel and stick crafting kits promised no mess fun. I received both kits for free so that I could try them out and review them. Opinions are 100% my own.

The first kit that we tried was the Felt Puppy & Bone Pillow Puff™ Kit. Andrew almost three. He’s got a month to go. I usually let my kids try games and toys that are outside their age range. This was no exception. What I learned was that the minimum age range is right. Andrew was a bit too young to really do these kits fully. There were some pieces that he could stick down for himself but portions like creating the puppy body were all me.

It didn’t matter that he couldn’t do everything for this project. Andrew still had fun decorating the puppy. He simply enjoys putting stickers on things. These kits are great because everything has a sticky backing. The only cleanup I had was the backing on all of the stick on pieces. I think that an older child would have no problem with these crafts. Instructions were clear and easy to follow and what kid doesn’t love stickers.

We also worked on the Mommy & Baby Bird Pom Pals Kit. This was more Andrew’s Speed because the body of the mommy bird was already assembled. All he had to do was stick down the pieces like the feet and over-sized eyes. Andrew liked this kit more because the bird was so soft and squishy.

Like the Felt Puppy Kit, this kit came with everything that you would need to assemble and create a stuffed bird. Also included was a tiny little baby bird. It was such a tiny little puffball that the big googly eyes barely fit on it. But they did and they look really cute.
