For many years we would watch the Big Game with my family. Rooting for our favorite team while enjoying some fun food and funny commercials is the best. Now I work on weekends and so I celebrate with my co-workers with food, hearing about the game from online updates and searching online for the commercials. I like to give my co-workers something fun and new to eat each year and this year I decided upon something waffle related. This year I’m making SNICKERS® Waffles for everyone to enjoy. What goes into something as epic as SNICKERS Waffles? Read on. Read on.

First I went to Walmart to the candy aisle to pick out exactly what I would need to make the SNICKERS Waffles. You might figure, “just get any SNICKERS and put it into the Waffle Mix”. You would be wrong. There is some science to this. You do add SNICKERS your waffle mix, but what do you choose? You choose a resealable bag of SNICKERS unwrapped Bites. The reason you choose this is that you can freeze the bag, smash up the SNICKERS inside and save the rest that you don’t use in that same bag for the next time you make SNICKERS Waffles. Because, they are so good you’re gonna want to make them again.

My inspiration for SNICKERS Waffles was that I saw a video about things that you can make in a waffle maker and I had to get one. I’ve made all sorts of things with the waffle maker. My family agrees that this recipe (see below) is the best so far.

I not only picked up the SNICKERS unwrapped Bites but also some SNICKERS Fun size bars and Starburst®. The Starburst are not part the recipe but while you are watching the Big Game they are great to snack on as well. I also bought Ice Cream to top off the finished waffle. I was looking for a combination of warm gooey SNICKERS, room temperature SNICKERS and frozen SNICKERS. The combination is incredible.

As I said earlier, SNICKERS unwrapped Bites are perfect for this recipe because you can throw the bag in the freezer and then smash them to bits inside the bag. No unwrapping necessary. Then once you are all done using what you’d like from the bag pop it back into the freezer for the next time you make these. There will be a next time. Did I mention that already. I did, but it is worth repeating.

Mix up your favorite waffle mix first and then add in the frozen pieces of SNICKERS. I’m sure that you can do this with other flavors of SNICKERS as well like the peanut butter and the almond SNICKERS. If you did that then you’d just have to unwrap them, place them in a resealable bag, freeze them and then smash them up. This takes a little longer, probably very worth it for the various flavor options and probably something I will do in the future.

Take a wisk and wisk in the SNICKERS pieces. Don’t worry if you have fairly large pieces, they will melt and big melted pieces of SNICKERS within the waffle are delicious!

Check out the finished waffles coming off the waffle maker. Notice the golden brown color with a few darker spots here and there. Those spots are your melted SNICKERS pieces. If you let them cool a little bit then the caramel hardens up a little and it becomes chewy and I just love that!

Before I made these waffles for the folks at work I made them for my family to celebrate my wife’s birthday. As you can see above I placed the SNICKERS waffle on a plate with a fun size SNICKERS as well as a scoop of ice cream. The combination was excellent. It made a great substitute for a birthday cake.

Here is the recipe I followed.

Ingredients

• 2 eggs
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 3/4 cups milk
• 1/2 cup vegetable oil
• 1 tablespoon white sugar
• 4 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 Bag of SNICKERS® unwrapped Bites

SNICKERS® Waffles RECIPE

• Freeze a bag of SNICKERS unwrapped Bites and then smash them to bits.
• Preheat waffle iron.
• Beat eggs in large bowl with hand beater until fluffy.
• Beat in flour, milk, vegetable oil, sugar, baking powder, salt and vanilla, just until smooth.
• Add SNICKERS unwrapped Bites pieces to the waffle batter
• Spray preheated waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray.
• Pour mix onto hot waffle iron.
• Cook until golden brown.
• Plate and serve with a fun size SNICKERS and a scoop of your favorite ice cream.

I had a lot of waffle mix left over so I brought my waffle maker to work. I stopped back off at Walmart again and got more SNICKERS but also Skittles®, and Starburst Fave Reds. I found some football shaped bowls and laid out a tasty spread for everyone. I may have gotten into a bit of trouble for bringing in the waffle maker but I didn’t hear any complaints from anyone eating the finished Big Game Treats. When you work the overnight shift for 12 straight hours three days a week you live for those nights when there are tasty snacks.
