Sunshine Homecoming

Photo-A-Day #1958

Getting home at midnight and then heading to work at 5:30am makes for one tough day. Today was that day. I got into work and I was draggin’ butt. Luckily I’m now working with someone who yawns and falls asleep just as much as I do. But we worked through the fog and were able to get down to business.

Luckily the day went by quickly and I was home before I knew it. Getting home to see Eva after being away for five days is a great feeling. She was very excited about seeing us and also she loved the things we brought home for her. We were able to pick up a stuffed Orca and turtle from ShareASale. Allison gave her the Orca this afternoon and Eva said “I love this because my Daddy brought it home for me.” How awesome is that? It was great to finally be home and to see Eva’s smiling face. she was very excited after being “On Vacation” while we were away.

Dinner was fun tonight because we were able to try the cupcakes from Magnolia. Allison had a carrot cake one and it was delicious. She was at a loss for words over how much she liked it. The frosting was like heaven, she says. Eva had a traditional cupcake with green frosting because it had sprinkles on it. The frosting was hard because Allison put them into the fridge. Eva wanted to wait till it was soft again so she didn’t really eat much of it, but I certainly enjoyed them. They were delicious.

Today was one of those post conference lows. When you spend a weekend with the top creative people in the industry that you love so much it makes it hard to return to the rut. I have so much follow up to do and assignments from Jim Kukral. A major assignment. Contact someone high up at Canon to pitch sponsorship of my Photo-A-Day project because let’s face it, Nikon is not being responsive so it is time to up the ante. Can you say nervous.

  1. Try your best to carry that feeling of creativity and inspiration! Even if it means altering your workspace in order for a ‘fresh’ feeling.

  2. You deserve an awesome Canon sponsorship!!! Great takeaway from the conference. If there is anything your fans can do to help you make it happen, just let us know.

    1. Tricia,

Wow, thanks very much. I guess I’m going to try and find inroads to the Canon family through Linked In and the power of my social network of fantastic people. So if anyone has contacts and wants to talk to a guy who is super excited about taking photos every day then send them my way.
