A Little Goofy Time With Andy

A little goofy time with Andy

Don’t ask me where this kid comes up with his ideas. I know that he likes to entertain people and make them laugh. Tonight he got all dressed in his karate sparring gear including the mouth guard. This kid is a nut sometimes. Of course he doesn’t always pick up on the best times for his shenanigans. He usually pulls this kind of thing when we are in the middle of anything else. Tonight Eva and I were trying to watch a Blu-ray for review before I headed to work. So, it is the perfect time for Andy to bust in with his silliness. Or, at least, he thinks that way.

In my facebook memories I did get this silly video from 7 years ago when Andy was being Andy.

So, some things have not changed.

New Bike, New Training Wheels… For Now…

New Training Wheels

We went to the Cape today. Stuck in about 2 hours of traffic on the ride down. We usually go at different, more off, times but today we got stuck in the mix. This means that there are going to be many, many people on the Cape. We’ll have to switch things up a bit to protect ourselves from the general public. Social Distancing is out the window unless we do it ourselves. So, it means going to the beach before the crush of people descend upon the space and disregard any and all of the posted rules for being at the beach. So, that will be an adventure.

Last week when we were down Andy was riding his old bike, a 16″ bmx type bike and he just could not keep up with his cousins. He was also practically hitting his chin with his knees over and over as he pedaled. It made for a rather frustrating adventure on everyone’s part. But, he kept at it and kept trying.

While we were home this past week I ordered some training wheels to put on Eva’s old bike. Luckily the bike is black and purple, two colors that Andy loves and it looks like a hybrid of the traditional girl vs. boy style of bike. So it is perfect for Andy. The bike is a 20″ one and the new training wheels work for bikes from 16″ – 20″. I put on the training wheels and ran into the same problem that I had with the existing training wheels. There is a plastic spot garding the chain that made it impossible to put the training wheels on right. Luckily my dad had a tool that could cut part of that plastic part off and the training wheels could be attached.

These are some nice training wheels that look like rollerblade. Then we discovered that the wheels light up when they spin. The training wheels package also came with a little bell and that thrilled Andy to no end.

We’ll be going out each night when the parking lot clears out so Andy can practice. By the end of the Summer or sooner he’ll be off those training wheels for good.
