App Alert – Sofia the First: The Floating Palace

Sofia the first is one of the preferred cartoons in our house. Both Eva and Andrew love it. When we ask Andrew what he’d like to watch he often asks for a “Fi”. Eva also gets very excited when a new Sofia the First episode gets recorded to the DVR. Recently there was a Sofia the First Primetime special called The Floating Palace. In this special, Sofia and her family travel to a special cove in their large ship which is more like a floating palace. While there Sofia befriends a mermaid named Oona and Sofia’s amulet allows her to become a mermaid after Sofia performs an unselfish act. Sofia the First in Her First-Ever Primetime Special

SOFIA THE FIRST – “The Floating Palace”

Sofia the First is a staple cartoon in our home. Both Eva and Andrew adore Sofia or “Fia” as Andrew calls her. We DVR every episode so the kids can watch them over and over. Allison and I enjoy the show as well.

One of the recurring aspects of the show is that when Sofia has some trouble her amulet helps call upon the other Disney princesses for help. We’ve seen Cinderella, Jasmine and Belle so far. This isn’t something that happens in every episode, it is something that only occurs when Sofia really needs help. Most of the time she is a pretty capable kid who is the level headed one. But, sometimes she needs a bit of advice or a nudge int eh right direction. That help and advice sometimes comes from another princess.

Well, there is a new special coming on Sunday November 24 at 7pm on Disney channel and then again on thursday November 28th at 7pm on Disney Junior. In this Sofia the First primetime special Sofia and her family go on a royal vacation and along the way Sofia meets another Disney princess, Ariel, the Little Mermaid.
