I took the family to Chub’s Blue Pig BBQ for lunch today and it did not disappoint. Everyone enjoyed the food and the atmosphere of the place. We decided to go with the sampler with a full rack of ribs. It is a good thing we got a full rack because Eva pretty much devoured a half rack all on her own. Andrew wasn’t as hungry. He must have been a bit off because all he did was pick. That isn’t like him. But, then again, Eva wasn’t quite herself either as you can see below.
Eva could not get enough of everything in the sample especially the ribs. She ate so many of them and if you tried to get anywhere near them she got quite possessive. Her friend Maryana coined the name Lourdes of the Ribs after Lord of the Rings and the Gollum character. I thought it more silly like Monty Python and the Holy Grail with the cute little attack bunny. Either way the whole family enjoyed a great lunch at Chub’s. A must eat place in our area.
Today Eva had extra special time with her Auntie Tara. On an effort to turn around the disaster that has been Eva’s room, Tara came over to help give her some tips and advice and she also brought some special surprises for Eva to have in her room. She also brought a special surprise for Andrew’s room. We’ll have to tackle his room another time. For now, Eva’s room is pretty well cleaned out. We still have to figure out a bookshelf situation and do the clothes and closet but progress was made. She is so happy with her little corner where she can just chill out and read and do whatever.
Andrew’s room is next on the overhaul train. We’ll be removing the LEGO table and putting in a desk. He’s wanted a desk for a while now.
Tonight for dinner Allison made a special meatloaf that was wrapped in Honey Jack Bacon from Chub’s Blue Pig BBQ. I picked up a pound of it on Friday when I went there for lunch. I had been craving Chub’s brisket ever since having it a couple of weeks ago. I started following their Facebook page, which is a mistake if you get easily swayed to foods upon seeing them.
I was planning on going there on Friday anyway to get more brisket. I was working and I saw a post up that they had 6 pounds of Honey Jack Bacon for $12 each and if you wanted one to leave a comment to reserve it. I left a comment but I was too late. I went over anyway and was talking to everyone there about missing out. Then they asked me if I would take a pound that was frozen. I said sure and the gave me a pound. I could not wait to try it out and it was not disappointed!
