We celebrated my friend Derek’s 50th birthday tonight at Towne Tavern. It was a very nice evening catching up with friends and sharing stories. Derek reminded me that there was also a birthday party for his 30th where many of the same people were in attendance. In face I was writing this blog 20 years ago and even have a post up of that night. DEREK’S 30TH BIRTHDAY BASH!. I have a lot of things documented in the past 20 years on this blog. so many things. While we have aged in that time we can still be transported back to the early days with all the funny stories that we have together.
Before heading to the party I worked on setting up the 3D printer. I had a heck of a time getting the filament to get into the correct spot but about an hour before we were to leave I got it working and ran the benchmark print, a little boat called Benchy. The printer prints quite quickly and I’m looking forward to whatever else we can create.
Today is Andy’s 12th birthday. We started off with breakfast at Morin’s together. there we played Tic-Tac-Toe with silverware and jelly packets. Andy has always enjoyed Tic-Tac-Toe and playing games while we wait for our meals at restaurants. We did not have a pen and paper so we made do with what we did have.
Later in the afternoon we went down to the Cape for the Thanksgiving holiday. We stopped off at McDonald’s to grab lunch for Andy and me. We made a second stop at Dunkin for Eva and Allison. Then we were off to the Cape. Traffic was not bad so we made great time.
We enjoyed some Paul’s pizza for dinner and hung out with mom and dad. We watched the movie, Leo, on Netflix. It was funny and cute. We gave Andy their gifts including some Axolotl socks and slippers. Eva gave Andy a Minecraft LEGO set that also had Axolotls in it. We also gave Andy a 3D printed Dragon.
Andy has barely put this dragon down over the past few days. they really love it. I posted about it on Facebook and a friend from Krav showed it to his son and the son made Andy a dragon with his own 3D printer. We’re going to get it on Thursday. That is such a nice thing that the kid would do and he doesn’t even know Andy.
