This morning we headed down to the Cape for a few weeks. Andy and Eva are going to start Science School tomorrow. Tonight I am going to work from the Cape House for the first time ever. I never did it before because I used to work in a job where I had to speak on the phone at all hours of the night. Now I do not have to talk with anyone so I figured I would not disturb anyone in the house by working here overnight. It will be strange to he up all night here but I think it will work.
We got down and I took a nap. I remembered to bring my earplugs with me and I was able to sleep through all sorts of things.
We had dinner on the new sunporch furniture with Mom, Dad, Tar and Erik. We had pizza and then after dinner I took Andy across the street so that they could do some roller blading. Andy never took to bike riding but they do like roller blading and is pretty decent at it. Andy reminded me of 1989 when I got my first set of roller blades and would practice ever night at the parking lot over on Richard’s Ave. I’ve got to find my roller blading book for Andy to read.
I ran down to the Cape today to see my grandmother and then to stay overnight with my parents. Grandma was in good spirits and very interested in how my kids were getting on in school and other activities. They sent along some cards and I brought her a few photos from Eva’s Confirmation. I stayed there for a few hours visiting, hanging out while she slept and visiting with her visitors.
I drove back from Grandma’s house to my parent’s house. On the ride I had been listening to Ready Player One. I haven’t had much time in the car to do much Audible listening and it was good to get back into that book. I really enjoyed it the first few times I read it and it was nice to settle back in.
We got back to my parent’s house and we picked up pizza for dinner from Supreme and from Paul’s. It was a nice meal and then we watched the movie The Banshees of Inisherin. This was an Oscar nominated movie and my parents have been watching the different Oscar nominated movies ever since the Oscars were on. This movie is on HBO Max so we were able to watch it for free. It was an interesting movie. Part comedy, part dark drama. Very Irish.
the sunset was very nice and I went into the Peach Room which is where Eva usually stays in the Summer. This room has be best views of the entire house. Dad has been using it for his puzzle room. That window gets great light in the morning so he can enjoy his coffee and work on his puzzle.
