Skylanders Imaginators News: Free Playable Kaos Sensei Figure!

I have followed Skylanders ever since Spyro’s Adventure. Now, with the sixth iteration of the game in six years I can say that I’m still as excited to play as I was on day one. Skylanders Imaginators is headed to consoles everywhere on October 16 in North America. I will certainly be all over that game when it arrives. I just got confirmation of my upcoming review copy of the game and can’t wait to play it. Actually I did get to play a little at Sweet Suite last month. It was awesome! I was able to build a new character and play it. I was also able to play with and hold a bunch of the Sensei characters including Crash Bandicoot.

What I didn’t know then was that Kaos was going to be made into a Sensei and he would become a playable character! That is something that portal masters have been wanting for a while. We kind had that with Trap Team but it was limited. Now with Skylanders Imaginators Kaos is free to roam wherever and he’s is super powerful. If you pre-order and purchase the Skylanders Imaginators starter pack you can get a FREE Kaos figure (while supplies last). That is great news.KAOS in Skylanders Imaginators

However, Kaos is not the only Super Villain who is becoming a Sensei for Skylanders Imaginators. Crash Bandicoot’s arch-nemesis, Dr. Neo Cortex is also coming to the game. Additionally, Skylanders Imaginators will feature an all-new dedicated Crash Bandicoot level called Thumpin’ Wumpa Islands! This level is steeped in nostalgic Crash Bandicoot gameplay, including the classic TNT boxes, crabs, hazards, temple ruins, Wumpa Fruit, exploding fruit and more. This level will be available on the PS3 and PS4 starter packs at launch and will be released in a special Adventure Pack for all platforms later this year.

Skylanders Imaginators PS4 Starter Pack with Crash Bandicoot

Crash Bandicoot is a game that I never played. But I knew the character and he’s so in my brain that I will call the kids Crash Bandicoot when they stumble or smash into anything in the house. It has been my go to nickname forever and that is because Crash Bandicoot is in my collective unconscious. Well, now he’ll be in my Skylanders collection because he is coming to Skylanders Imaginators! While he is being released as part of a special PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 starter packs at launch ($99.99) I am sure that “at launch” means that his figure will be sold individually later in the release of the game. I know this because the Crash toy will be playable across all platforms in Skylanders Imaginators – the game where Portal Masters can unleash their imaginations to create an infinite number of unique Skylanders characters.

I’m also so excited that one of my favorite voice actors, Jess Harnell (lead singer of Rock Sugar and voice to countless characters) will be reprising his role as Crash. So Crash will maintain his his unique and quirky personality. Fans can look forward to his signature spin attack, as well as callbacks to his beloved past, including moves that incorporate exploding crates with 3-2-1 countdowns, wumpa fruit, jetpack attack from high in the air and more. As a Sensei, Crash’s Sky-Chi attack is the ability to use a yo-yo to yank his enemies into a spin attack! Crash will be a guest star in Skylanders Imaginators, where he will be fully playable as a Sensei character and brand-new toy. More about Crash’s Return below.
