On Tuesday October 14, Samsung is holding another #DITCHtheDSLR Event. This time it is going to be in Hollywood, California. consumers will get the chance to Ditch their old DSLR in favor for a brand new Samsung NX30 – My personal favorite from the cameras I have been using as part of the #Imagelogger program – or a Samsung NXMini SMART Camera – which is a close second in the favorite camera category. Participants can also attempt to become part of history with Nick Cannon and Julianne Hough to break a World Record.

What:

After a successful and action-packed stop in NY’s Times Square, Samsung’s #DITCHtheDSLR day rolls into Hollywood and Highland with a chance for VIP Press and consumers to trade in a DSLR to the award-winning Samsung NX30 or an NX Mini SMART Camera, and witness a selfie Guinness World Record breaking with Nick Cannon and Julianne Hough!

As technology advances and cameras become smaller and lighter, many have continued to carry around large outdated DSLR cameras or often limited smartphone cameras without questioning, “Is there something better?”

Come and check out some of the newest, slimmest and most connected Samsung SMART cameras. Consumers that Ditch a DSLR (trade in) will receive a new NX30 or NX Mini SMART Camera – WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.

In the afternoon, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles will join Samsung, Nick and Julianne to break a Guinness World Record. Samsung will donate $50,000 to the very worthy cause once the record is set.

To be eligible to Ditch your DSLR you must have the following items:

  • DSLR Body
  • Lens
  • Battery

Ditching the DSLRs

I’ve been a part of the Imagelogger program for almost a year now and I am proud to say that I am now DSLR free. Samsung did a Ditch the DSLR event in New York back in June and while I could not attend I asked my contacts if I could send them my DSLRs to ditch them in favor of new NX30s that I will be using to create an after school photography program at my daughter’s school.

I know that many more people were unable to attend the event in New York but you have the chance to Ditch your DSLR during a LIVE virtual Ditch event. It is called “Virtual Ditch Day” and it is a program where Samsung has partnered with Amazon.

  • WHAT: A live 1-hour event featuring video, product information and demos from Samsung highlighting the Samsung NX system. Viewers will receive exclusive access to Samsung deals and tips from photography experts on how to use Samsung’s NX cameras to shoot fast and share faster.
