Seeing Grandma

We started today off early with a drive to West Dennis to Captain Baker Donuts to check out this new donut place. They make all sorts of specialty donuts but you can also create your own donut to your liking. They make old fashioned donuts in plain or chocolate. We had a great time picking out the different flavors that we wanted. They were expensive but the experience as worth it and they tasted delicious. We chatted with the owner while we enjoyed the donuts and they showed us a few things around the place.

Captain Baker Donuts

After donuts we headed to visit my aunt and uncle at their new house. We toured the house and had some fun chatting with them about a bunch of things. The kids wandered around the yard and explored while we did. Andy found the cornhole game and challenged me to a couple matches. He’s got great aim.

After visiting my my aunt and uncle we headed to see my grandmother. She made us lunch and we visited for a bit. I picked up the things necessary from her to start a little project to transfer VHS to DVD and then make that digital for her. I got the first set of tapes and the VHS/DVD player to make the transfers. It was a really nice night that we capped off with a cook out back at my parent’s house. We were lucky for good weather today.

On the way home from the Cape today we stopped off at Confectionery Designs for four of their specialty donuts. We picked up a Chocolate Peanut Brittle, Key Lime, Strawberry Shortcake and a Maple Bacon. Then we cut each one into quarters and split enjoyed them. My favorite was the Key Lime. I just love that flavor and they make a fantastic one.

Donuts were on the brain because I walked all over Falmouth looking for donuts yesterday. I wanted anything but Dunkin Donuts. Just not a fan.
