When Disney’s Freaky Friday debuted on The Disney Channel my family was there watching it on the very first night. I missed out on the fun because I was at work. When I got home Andrew and Eva were singing the songs and talking about how much they enjoyed the movie. I finally got a chance to watch the movie with the family when we received the DVD. I enjoyed it very much. The songs were catchy and the story was interesting.
When I was a kid I saw the Jodie Foster version of Freaky Friday. I also saw the movie Like Father, Like Son which had the same premise of parents and children switching their minds into each other’s bodies and having to spend a day, or longer in each other’s shoes. The original movie was based on the Mary Rogers novel from 1972. Since then the body/mind swapping has premise has happened a number of times. In this case we now have a musical movie based on the Freaky Friday stage show which was also a musical. I still think the Jodie Foster version was the best but this was enjoyable for the whole family. More about the movie below. Continue reading Disney’s New Musical, Freaky Friday on DVD Now
