Zak Designs sent us a two selections of character beverageware for free to celebrate Halloween. Opinions are our own.

A little while back Zak Designs asked if I would like to check out some of their new products for Halloween. They had them for Peanuts, Star Wars, Mickey Mouse, Little Monsters, Paw Patrol, or Harry Potter. I love Peanuts and nothing says Halloween to me like The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! I have to watch that every year. So I of course choose Peanuts. And we are a Harry Potter house so Harry Potter was my second selection. I received a whole bunch of great stuff for each fandom. We received two (2) Halloween mealtime sets that include a plate, tumbler, and water bottle and two (2) color change ceramic mugs.

Dragon Riding with my Peanuts Mug

Eva has been making cakes all day. She is working on her science fair experiment to see what makes a cake come out of the pan the easiest. She took her experiment and frosted it and made a Halloween cake so I had to show everyone my new costume for the year. I went with an inflatable one of a knight riding a dragon. But I sort of want to dress my top half like Lumberg from Office Space and carry around a mug like my color change snoopy one. That might be rather humorous.

Snoopy and cake

I love the little plates from Zak Designs. They are shaped like pumpkins and have fun designs on them. The Peanuts one has a Charlie Brown zigzag across it with Snoopy on it.

A Harry Potter Cake

For Eva’s birthday we did a combination of Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. I pulled out the Zak Designs Harry Potter Collection for her at her party so she could enjoy her cake on the adorable plate and enjoy milk in that cute tumbler, too. The kids will also each have water bottles to take to school or with them trick or treating.

If your child has a Fall birthday like my kids do then you often do themes around Halloween. With Zak Designs you have options to get plates and tumblers or eve water bottles that would make great goodie bag gifts plus they’d be better than cheap plates and cups. You cna find Zak Designs at their website https://www.zak.com/ and you can see the full Halloween lineup at https://www.zak.com/kids-halloween-mealtime

Here are all the items in an unboxing video.

Halloween 2018

Halloween Dragon

This Halloween we visited our friends, the McCanns. We’ve been pretty lucky the past few years to go over to trick or treat in their neighborhood. Walking around there is like trick or treating in the E.T. movie or any movie where kids are trick or treating for Halloween, that isn’t a horror. It is idyllic. People are out in their garages that have been decorated and they have fire-pits and there are decorations galore. We’ve started making it a tradition to take a photo in front of one house that has a giant inflatable dragon.

All the Kids

We do a photo of Andrew and Eva and then with all five kids together. It is one of my favorite yearly photos. The kids even know to go and get in front of the dragon now, too. Everyone gathers up so Mr. Bennett can take his photo.

Mario and Luigi

This year, thanks to Nintendo, Andrew was Luigi from Luigi’s Mansion and the Super Mario games. Nintendo sent us the costume along with the giant flashlight and the Luigi’s Mansion game. The McCann’s middle son was Mario. Somehow we lost the mustache for Luigi so Allison had to draw one on him. The boys had a great night and they weren’t the only two Super Mario Brothers that we saw on our journey.

Eva was a character of her own design. She had us get a long violet wig and she carried a sword. She and her friend Maryana have created the character and I think the name was Abigail. However, I need to read the story to know all the details.

In all it was a great night with pizza, friends and lots and lots of great candy.
