Photo-A-Day 2.0 #00042
When I was a kid I played the Nintendo Entertainment System, the NES. My very first one had the serial number of 000001, I swear to God!! However, that one gave up the ghost and I got another to replace it. My grandparents got the system for me and I played that every single day! The Legend of Zelda was my most favorite game and it was cool because the game saved your progress on a special battery. I think it was only supposed to last for 5 or 10 years however. I saved the system so that one day when my kids say that they are bored with all the cool things they have I would make them play these old games.
I’ve been writing for The Toy Insider for a while now. I write about video games and my next article is about Retro gaming. I can’t think of anything more retro then a Nintendo Entertainment System and all the games that I played as a kid. Although, you can pretty much get access to every single one of the games that I physically have in the digital space. Nintendo Switch has Nintendo Switch Online, a $20 a year service that lets you play online games with friends (through an app on a phone) but it also lets you play so many of the classic games including The Legend of Zelda.
I shows this to the kids last night so that I could get a photo for the article. I’m going to see if I can connect the system to my TV upstairs and see if anything still plays on it. Otherwise I am not sure what to do with everything. I have over 50 games that I either bought or were bought for me. Many hours mowing lawns to get the money to buy them myself. It may be time for eBay.
