I picked another one of my toys to shoot in portrait. I set up the Kick on the Gorillapod so that I could light the Shredder figure. I shot it in profile so that I could capture a very dark background and make the figure pop.
I was using the NX300 with the 60mm Macro lens. I really notice how badly the toys I have need to be dusted when I see them in macro.
Today Eva’s dance studio had a Christmas Fundraiser. Each class had a minute or so little routine. Eva’s in one class, ballet, and they went first. I thought I had a prime seat for taking photos. I did, but just on the wrong side of the stage. Eva was on the completely opposite side and so I didn’t get any good photos of her dancing. I did get this beautiful photo though. I was able to capture a pretty natural expression on her face in this one and the Christmas backdrop works well with the headband and lipstick. So glad that this studio doesn’t go crazy with the kids makeup.
Eva did an excellent job during her routine, I’m so proud of her.
