We spent the afternoon at Pea Poddery today. This is a great place to go when you want to work on an activity for a couple of hours. I find that painting pieces of pottery is quite relaxing. Today, we were there on a special mission. I cannot say exactly why we were there or what we made but I will show you a little hint and when everything is fired then I will reveal the final looks of everything we made. Each of us had our own project to work on, the image above was the one that I did. I cannot wait to see what the final color will look like. I tried a few of my own techniques to add certain touches of color but I will have no clue until it is fired.
It began to get warmer so we had a quiet night in and watched some of the last episodes of Andi Mack together. The kids are going to miss that show when it goes off the air.
Last Friday we spent part of our day at the Pea Poddery painting some ceramic pieces. I took an awfully long time painting this head over and over again. I had to make sure that I got at least 3 coats on the whole thing in order to get the blue the darkest it could possibly be. I wanted to make sure that the dragon also had spots where the blue wasn’t as dark and that there was also some purple. I am really happy with how it came out. They had some special paint that exploded little bits of sand or something to make it speckled. That gave some interesting texture to the paint job.
I had just started listening to Eragon again and of course Game of Thrones has been on my mind. So I was inspired to paint my dragon like Saphira and the White Walker Dragon, Viserion. Although Viserion would probably be closer to a whitish-blue.
