Sharing ‘Peanuts’ with Andrew

At the Boston Lowe's Theater for Peanuts

Andrew and I went into Boston tonight to catch a Press Screening of the ‘Peanuts’ movie. I hadn’t given the movie much thought since many properties from my childhood have been handled so poorly. But I love ‘Peanuts’ and figured that I would give it a try to see if it held true to the source. The trailer and commercials certainly looked spot on but what about the tone. Was the movie handled well?

You’re going to have to wait for Friday for my full post about the movie and the content of it but I will say that it is something I would recommend you see.

Andrew was very good in this solo screening with me. We headed up to the theater around 5pm and ate our dinner there. Popcorn, pretzels, Junior Mints and Orange Juice. This kid has weird tastes. He would eat a Junior Mint and then take a swig of his OJ and tell me that it tasted like vanilla. Now, for anyone who has ever brushed their teeth and then forgotten and taken a sip of juice, you know how gross that is. Apparently Andrew loves it. Go Figure.

We had a fun time and lest you think I left Eva out on purpose for any reason, I did not. She had play practice for her show this weekend. So we will have our movie night this coming Monday and see ‘Peanuts’ again. It is worth seeing twice. Continue reading Sharing ‘Peanuts’ with Andrew

Barefoot Schroeder

Photo-A-Day #3277

I woke up today to the sounds of the kids playing together. They were loud but they were very engaged with each other and having a great time. They were playing hide and seek under the desk in the kitchen and stacking up the paper towels to make a little fort under there. Of course they were easy to find since they were giggling like crazy.

Can't Hide the Laughter

After dinner Eva wanted to do a little Rock and Roll show for us so I took her keyboard downstairs and she made up a song, highly influenced by Frozen, and sang to us. It was quite beautiful. Then Andrew had his turn and he made me think of the Peanuts character, Schroeder. He’s even got the hair.
