Meeting Cookie Monster and David Rudman

Photo-A-Day #3322

Today I flew to San Francisco California for the PBS Annual Meeting. As one of the PBS Kids VIPS (Very Involved Parents) I get to attend the PBS Annual Meeting and it is so much fun. This is my third time attending the annual meeting and I was looking forward to catching up with my fellow VIPS. I was blown away by our chance to meet the amazing Cookie Monster. We also met the puppeteer/actor for Cookie. That man is David Rudman and he is pretty darn amazing. As soon as he begins to operate Cookie you see only Cookie Monster and Cookie Monster is who you speak with, it is a strange but cool thing.

This year there is going to be a full on Cookie Monster special. I think that the popularity of all of the Cookie Monster movie parodies has made this Muppet even more popular than ever. Of any Muppet ever he was the one I was so excited to meet, and I did, so cool.

I have a video that Cookie Monster made for my kids. I just have to edit it a little bit but I will post soon.

During the day I learned a lot about a great new app for parents called Super Vision. This app allows parents to see what their kids are learning, in real time, on PBS Kids.org.

We met with more people from PBS and they were great. We then had a little free time so I took a shower and got ready for dinner. Dinner was excellent. So much good food and conversation. I spent a lot of time talking all sorts of things with The Rock Father.

I also caught up with one of my fellow Imageloggers, Leticia! She is so much fun!

Exploring the Walt Disney Family Museum at the #MonstersUEvent

Welcome to the Walt Disney Family Museum

While I was in San Francisco for the Monsters University Event I also got the opportunity to visit the Walt Disney Family Museum which is located in The Presidio. All 25 of the bloggers who attended Monsters University along with our awesome Disney Pr Rep, Marshall Weinbaum, took the tour. We split into two groups so that we’d be able to hear our tour guides better. If you go to the museum bring your camera because they allow non-flash photos to be taken which is great because there are so many fun pieces to see at the museum.

In the main lobby there are many awards that Walt Disney won. I think it was something like a 10th of the overall awards that he won in his lifetime or something like that. There were Academy Awards, humanitarian awards, foreign awards and many more. I was blown away by how many awards were in the lobby and found it hard to imagine how there could be more, there were so many. Before the tour got underway I poked around and looked at all the awards that were on the walls. So many of them were elaborate trophies for all sorts of things. One of the coolest ones was a trophy statue of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It was huge! Continue reading Exploring the Walt Disney Family Museum at the #MonstersUEvent
