I sit down for dinner tonight and Eva pulls out a phone cover and and then her brother leans in. She then pretends to take a “selfie” with the “phone”. It cracked me up so I had them do it again so I could take this picture. Eva had taken an old phone case and then cut a piece of paper to put inside of it. She drew on some apps and things like that to pretend it was a phone. Then she rattled off a bunch of apps that she added to it including Snapchat.
Now, we do not use Snapchat. She remembers that one time I used Facebook Messenger to put silly faces on myself and the kids. For some reason she thought it was Snapchat. Probably because those apps use silly faces.
I did enjoy the silliness and innocence of what they were doing. Just being together and having fun. I also know that, soon I will have to talk to them about social media and being responsible on it.
I was sent home from work around 4am because there was yet another New England Snow Storm about to happen. It was already happen by the time I got on the road and I was there before the plow trucks started their runs so it was a make it up as you go situation for the lanes on the highway. I took it slow and got home safely. Worked for a couple of hours and then went to sleep. Eva woke me to let me know that the neighbors were doing some snow blowing and so I got up to go help. I did our driveway and a path in the back yard. This didn’t make much difference later in the day since the City plowed us in once again and I’ll have to snowblow more tomorrow.
Allison and the kids were hard at work making batches of cookies for us and the neighbors. They made a bunch of them including a batch so big that it broke a spatula.
We ended up huddling together to watch a movie late into the afternoon and evening as we had another snow day here in New England.
