Today Allison, Eva and I took a walk around Turner Reservoir in East Providence/Seekonk. My friend Keith Gonsalves of the Ten Mile River Watershed Council sent out a message that there was going to be a walk today. This was the first time that Allison and Eva got a chance to come with me on any of the Watershed Council events. They had a nice time.

Scoop the Herring Day
Today I went to Omega Pond and Omega Dam in East Providence. Today was the 4th annual Scoop the Herring day put on by the Ten Mile River Watershed Council. My friend Keith pulled this event together and there were a ton of volunteers. The volunteers picked up bags and bags of trash including shopping carts and a tank for a BBQ Grill. The event not only was for the day but to also build awareness for the need for fish ladders so that many species of fish, like herring, can easily come back up to the rivers to spawn.
