The tradition in our family each year is for all of the women to make meat pies. Everyone used to get together at my grandmother’s house and make meat pies there. Now the tradition has shifted over to my mother’s house. Mom, Allison and Ellen, Donna and Carissa are over today working on the meat pies. That is a huge container of meat that will soon be filled with mountains of potatoes. I love our family made meat pies. I didn’t used to like them as a kid but I really like them now. I can’t wait to have one.

I had a piece for lunch and it was great. I think they are going to make something like 24 pies.

Obviously I love coming home to see my wonderful wife, who is due through the door any minute now. But I also love coming home because when I have been gone a week, a big stack of mail is waiting for me (mostly bills) and this week two things I ordered were waiting for me. The first was the Dyson Absolute Animal. I haven’t opened it yet but I will very soon, and the other was a Transformer’s classic grimlock that I had ordered a while ago. It is nice to come home and find stuff like that. I also had a $20 rebate from a memory card I bought months ago, waiting for me to go and deposit in my bank account.
