1st Photo-A-Day of 2009 - Happy New Year!
Photo-A-Day #1364

A little while after the clock struck midnight I took out the XShot and took the first Photo-A-Day of 2009. A look at how I’d like to spend 2009, surrounded by family and friends having fun.

We had a very nice New Year’s party and thank everyone who braved the snow and ice to come to the house and celebrate with us. Allison made a delicious White Chicken Chili or White Chili with Chicken, I can never remember but I know it is really good. I went out and got a bunch of extras like mozzarella sticks, pizza bites, mini tacos and potato skins. We had plenty of food and the house had plenty of people. My parents, my sister Tara and my Brother-In-Law Erik, Meghan and Russ, Mike, Neil and Andrea. We even made it to midnight tonight, and so did Neil and Andrea. Everyone else went home early. We were even able to crack the champagne that we bought for last year’s New Year’s Eve.

During the night we talked, watched the ball drop and played some Wii games like Mario Kart and Guitar Hero. It was fun and we were glad that we charged the batteries earlier that day.

Today was a nice one with church in the morning followed by some lazing around. I read some of Brisingr and took a nice long nap. It was a nice day that got even nicer with a delicious meal with Mom and Dad. They made a Prime Rib Roast that was so good. Tara and Erik had dinner with us too and Eva loved all the attention, of course. Eva’s been expanding her vocabulary every day and she picks up and repeats words so fast. Fast enough that she caught us say “Crap” and immediately tested that word out. Great. Welcome to 2009.

Love the Media Center

We love using the old computer as a media center. It has been awesome. The most fun thing we have done with it lately is to run the webcam so we can talk to our friends in South Dakota. But beyond that we also set the Picture in Picture on the computer to run the webcam on the bottom right side of the screen and we played Guitar Hero 3 with our friends through the wi-fi connection on the Wii.

The one thing we need to work on is the moments when we got some major feedback while playing, other than that it worked like a charm. Also I love that we can load up all our CDs and record our favorite shows without having to think about it. So much fun.
