Earlier this Summer PlaSmart sent us a Watermelon Ball Jr. for free for us to play with and review. It wasn’t until today that I could get a pool and an underwater camera to show you the fun that we have with this very cool toy. Forget the beach ball as the go to in the water toy. Once you play with the Watermelon Ball Jr. you will never want to go back to a plain old beach ball ever again.
The cool thing about a Watermelon Ball is that it acts like an actual watermelon in the water. A watermelon has neutral buoyancy. What this means is that it neither sinks nor floats. Well, it actually does float a bit under the water. If I throw the Watermelon Ball Jr. into the water as I’m doing in the image above. The ball will hit the water and sink to the bottom. Bounce. Then it will come right back up to almost floating.
The great thing about this is that you can throw the ball under water to each other. We played for hours on the Cape at the beach. Everyone from my father, wife kids and niece and nephew. Everyone had a fun time playing with this ball. It was the hit of the Summer toys that I brought with me to the Cape. Just wish I had taken an underwater camera, too.
It felt like 100 degrees around here today. Because of that we went over to my Aunt’s house and played in the pool. We had fun bouncing the ball around, shooting it through the floating rings. There are many things you can do with the Watermelon Ball Jr. Check out the fun in this video from the Watermelon Ball, Jr. website.
