Win a Free Raleigh, NC Getaway!

As you know, I love contests and sweepstakes and I LOVE TO WIN! Seriously, I am surrounded by some winnings that I have been lucky enough to receive. My Zune, My iPod and many other items. So why not win a trip somewhere.

How about a FREE Raleigh Getaway. That would be great because Raleigh, NC has so much to do. I have only been to Charlotte, NC and I would like to visit some other cities in NC. I loved Charlotte very much and if Raleigh is anything as special as Charlotte was I know I will have a great time there.

Raleigh offers city life, Carolina Style and the Carolinas have wonderful style, there is so much to do in this hidden treasure of a vacation spot. There are many attractions, concerts and sporting events in Raleigh. I would like to see NC Theatre’s production of Man of La Mancha if I won the trip. I loved reading Don Quixote in High school and I hear that this is a fantastic play. I think that if Allison and I would like to go on a Fall Getaway in Raleigh, NC.

On thing that makes my job so great is that I get to chance to travel all over the country. I love to explore, take photographs and learn more about places. I see that Raleigh is working towards becoming a vacation spot for people who enjoy the excitement of a slower pace. And I mean it, a slower pace can be exciting. Learning from museums, seeing plays and just enjoying the southern hospitality of the people and their food is fantastic! I would certainly make great use out of my time with a trip to Raleigh, NC! And I registered to win just moments ago.

If you register to win this is what you will get as a prize.

-One night accommodations for two at the Courtyard by Marriott Raleigh Crabtree Valley
-$25 gift certificate to Bloomsbury Bistro
-Free VIP admission for two to Rum Runners
-2 tickets to the North Carolina Theatre
-2 tickets to the N.C. Museum of Art’s Landscapes from the Age of Impressionism
-2 tickets to Dinosaurs: Ancient Fossils, New Discoveries at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences

A pretty nice package to say the least. I would probably want to stay a few nights, but getting at least one free night is great. I wish I was able to be there right now, because the Raleigh 3rd Annual Bike Fest is happening this weekend. That would be a great PhotoWalking activity for me.

Kayaking with kids…

On Thursday night as Allison and I took a tour of the hospital where I child is to be born my mind began to wander. I quietly walked by each healthcare cart that will hold a computer that will be used to monitor Allison and our new baby. I thought about the future and when I can finally introduce my child to kayaking.

I am really looking forward to getting a tandem kayak so that I can take our child with us on the boats. First I will have to get a boat that has enough room to put the child, I don’t say baby because I know I would be too nervous about taking a baby on the water, even if we just go a little ways off shore. I want to make sure that our child can swim and not panic in the water before we take them out there. So I figure a tandem kayak is in my future, just like a minivan is also in my future, but not today.

I’ve read a few posts and comments and articles about kayaking with kids and I will check into these more throughout my child’s life, but I will also offer my own experiences of paddling with children once we do so.
