My Comic Book Collection…

Back in 1994 when I was in the later half of my Sophomore year of college I got back into comic books. I say back into because when I was about 10 years old I bought every Transformers comic book that ever came out. One day in 1994 I was watching the home shopping network and they were selling a set of #1s from a company called Image. The comics looked amazing and I had been out of comics for a while so I decided to buy them. It was a whim, I know, but because of that purchase I then got into some pretty cool comic series. I followed WildC.A.T.S., Stormwatch, The Savage Dragon, Gen 13, WetWorks and a bunch of other comics. My main focus was on the one put out first by Image and then by WildStorm. I haven’t stopped collecting since. Now it is 2008 and I am collecting Transformers comics again as well as G.I. Joe (I collected that too when I was 10yrs old but not as religiously as the Transformers).

My collection has gotten pretty darn big and I have toyed with the idea of selling part of it from time to time. I want to find a decent Comic Price Guide in order to make it worth my while to start selling them. I found iTaggit which is much more than a price guide. This is a place where I could upload images of all my comics (Which would take the better part of a month going non stop wit the scanner and camera). I could also store information about each item as well as use the research tools to find the best valuation for each item. Itaggit not only works for comic books but for anything that is a collectible, and so with my collection of transformers, Star Wars Lego sets and Cars, die cast cars I could upload everything for posterity as well as a way to potentially sell my items. Who knows, maybe start this as a rainy day project.

Pretty Bird.. PAD #1114

Today I spent the day with Eva, we went all over the place and she was wonderful. You can read about it at my blog Read To Me Dad. There is a beautiful picture of her there so it is well worth the trip over to visit.

I didn’t have much time throughout the day to do any blogging because I spent all the time with Eva but I did get to go and take a bunch of pictures when we went to the Zoo. You can see them at my latest Flickr Set.

Also I made a ‘Grilled’ Peanut Butter and Pickle Sandwich today, that is the post below this one so check that out.

And Today I took one of my favorite Entropy pictures for the April Challenge and that photo just happened to fit with the Photo Hunter’s theme this week, so enjoy that too.

It was a busy interesting day and I had a great time with Eva. I also picked up some of my latest comic books and I am off to read them now before Allison gets home so she can read them after me.
