You could say that Groot is a tree of few words but those words will be in the voice of actor Vin Diesel when many non-English speaking audiences see the movie. Vin Diesel, who voices the character Groot in this summer’s highly anticipated, epic adventure Marvel’s GUARDIAN’S OF THE GALAXY, dubbed his lines from the film in Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, French and Russian. The dubbing, intended to uniquely customize the moviegoing experience for international audiences, took place recently in Los Angeles during post-production in collaboration with key marketing teams around the globe. Here are a few of the languages that Vin did to give voice to Groot.

During the #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyEvent that I attended a coupe of weeks ago I had the pleasure to be part of a group interview with Zoe Saldana who plays Gamora in the movie. Zoe has played many strong female roles in sci-fi movies including Lt. Uhura in the Star Trek reboots and Neytiri in the Avatar series. When speaking to Zoe you can’t help but notice the quiet grace of this fiercely intelligent and intense woman. Zoe told us about her motivations for taking the role and her input to make Gamora more than simply eye candy. Plus she likes the Thundercats so that makes her awesome in my book.
