It was a very short day at the PBS Annual Meeting today. For the PBS Kids VIPS we were able to go to the opening breakfast that was put on for Ready, Jet Go! This is a new Space themed show which looks like it will be a lot of fun. The show centers around Jet, an alien boy who makes friends with the neighborhood kids and takes them on adventures into Space. The show was created by Craig Bartlett who created Dinosaur Train. The interstitials will be done by Dr. Amy Mainzer. She will be teaching kids all about Space and what I’ve seen so far is something that I know my kids will enjoy.

After the breakfast it was time for the PBS Kids showcase. This session was all about the PBS kids shows that will be happening this coming year as well as many educational endeavours of PBS. This was also the session where there are goodie bags. I forgot all about them until I got in and I wondered how was I going to take everything home. A brand new app was released last Thursday from PlayDate Digital called Transformers Rescue Bots: Dino Island. This is the 2nd Transformers Rescue Bots storybook app (in English and Spanish). We received a copy of that app plus an Optimus Primal figure. Opinions of the app are 100% our own.
Andrew has just started to get excited about Transformers Rescue Bots. Eva has been excited about the show ever since she started pre-school. The very first Rescue Bot that she got was Optimus Prime and ever since I’ve picked up all the toys and watched all the episodes. We enjoy the series very much. So, when I got a chance to review this app and offer a giveaway I just had to do it. We also didn’t have Optimus Primal yet and that was a bonus. With the third season of Rescue Bots we see the introduction of Dino Bots. Each of the Rescue Bots get new forms during the season and this app is all about how they get their forms and learn to use their new powers. Optimus Prime also gets a dino bot form as a huge Tyrannosaurus Rex. Heatwave becomes a Brachiosaurus, Chase a Stegosaurus, Boulder a Triceratops and Blades a Pteranodon.
