It is a Pretty Great Time to Be a Cartoon Loving Dad #StreamTeam

This is my very first official Netflix #StreamTeam monthly post and it fits me to a most perfect “T”. Seriously, I love cartoons and I love that I have two wonderful kids with whom to share my love of cartoons. Shows that I used to watch as a kid are getting new life or being rebooted on Netflix. Case in point, Inspector Gadget. In 1983 the oblivious secret agent, Inspector Gadget was on ever 7-10 year old’s television set every day after school. You can’t walk by a child of the 80’s and say, “Do, da, do, da, do..” without them saying “Inspector Gadget”. This stuff sticks with you. Inspector Gadget was always helped out in his misadventures by his niece Penny and very intelligent dog, Brain. Somehow, with their help, he always foiled the plans of the nefarious Dr. Claw.

While I do wish that the original series was on Netflix I am happy to see that a brand new series has been created. This new series updates things about the series. Penny is now a young adult and an agent in her own right. Brain is still her trusty sidekick. Dr. Claw is trapped in ice with Mad Cat and his claw is missing. Uncle Gadget is enjoying retirement. But, now there is the nephew of Dr. Claw named Talon who tries to get Dr. Claw and M.A.D. back into its former glory.

The kids and I watched a few episodes of the series together in a wicked cool fort that I made with a fort building kit that was sent to me for this month’s Stream Team post. We also received matching Inspector Gadget shirts. So, we hung out in the fort taking silly selfies with our new Selfie Stick and using a little flashlight to light ourselves as we took selfies. Boba Fett Joins Disney Infinity 3.0

This morning I showed Eva the image of the upcoming and newly announced Boba Fett figure for Disney Infinity 3.0. She immediately asked if he was Sabine’s father. She recognized the Mandalorian Armor and immediately made the connection to Sabine’s armor from Star Wars Rebels. I was so proud. While my daughter has not watched the original Star Wars or any of the movies she is a fan of Star Wars Rebels and has picked up a few bits of information here and there. We actually tried to watch Star Wars yesterday when she was home sick but my digital version is not available on any of my platforms for the TV. Strange. Back to the game, Eva suggested that when we play Disney Infinity 3.0 we should play as Boba Fett and Sabine and pretend that they are father and daughter. I like how this kid thinks. Proud geek dad moment.

I figured that Boba Fett would be joining Disney Infinity 3.0 sooner or later. I mean, how can you do Star Wars without one of the biggest fan favorites around. It looks like Boba Fett will have hand to hand combat abilities as well as ranged attacks. He better be able to use his jet pack as well. Boba Fett will be available early as part of a Limited Edition Starter pack similar to how The Hulk was available early with Disney Infinity 2.0 in a similar Starter Pack for Playstation 3 & 4. Check out the trailer for Rise Against the Empire and when you see Fett, don’t tell me you aren’t excited to play this character.

My next thought is, who’s next? Who else will we see as part of Disney Infinity 3.0 from the Star Wars Universe? Will we see General Grievous, more Jedi, Ewoks? Who?
