We are excited that Star Wars Rebels has returned to TV. The kids love watching it and Eva is glad to see more stories about Sabine and the rest of the crew. Sabine is her girl. She loves her. I am thinking that she would also like Ashoka Tano. With Ashoka as part of the team now she may want to check out The Clone Wars. It is pretty comparable to Star Wars Rebels. I’ve only watched the first season but I’ll probably watch all the way through first.

Curious George 3: Back to the Jungle on DVD
We received a copy of the new Curious George movie called Curious George 3: Back to the Jungle. Opinions of the DVD and movie are 100% our own. Andrew and I watched this last week and he enjoyed it. It is a kid’s movie so I would hope that he would find it enjoyable. I was in and out of consciousness because it was a Friday and I knew I had work that night so my body tries to store up a little more sleep because I’m basically looking at being up for 24+ hours straight. What I did see was enjoyable to me.
I like Curious George. We enjoy reading the books to the kids. I also watch the cartoon with Andrew and before him, Eva. We’ve checked out much of what is out there for Curious George. I enjoyed the first movie and the second movie and now there is a third movie. This time around George finds himself back in the Jungle along with The Man with Yellow Hat. Here is the Trailer for the movie that will be available to own on DVD June 23, 2015.
The Curious George TV show is cute but the movies are funny. The movies are funny to me because they can be self referential and do things that you wouldn’t normally see in the show. For one thing, the movies put a name to The Man with the Yellow hat. They called him Ted. For the first time, that I’ve ever seen the Man in the Yellow Hat, actually got mad at George. Here’s this monkey who has caused years and years of trouble for this poor guy and he finally snaps at George. Of course, then he (Ted) gets captured and is mistaken for a poacher by a woman who is protecting the game preserve. At this point George lets the man remain in trouble when he could help him out. George is hurt. He’s just a curious little monkey.
I can understand why kids love George, he is just like them. George tests things out and this often gets him into trouble but then he gets himself out of trouble because he tries things that no one else would think of. He sees the world as full of possibility and that is what children do when they are young, before they learn to be more cautious or guarded. As long as my kids aren’t doings things that are dangerous to themselves or others I try and encourage curiosity, but there are times when I to can get frustrated like The Man in the Yellow Hat.
