15 Years… That’s a Long Time! Doing What?

My LEGO Dimensions
Photo-A-Day #4166

If you look at today’s photo there are a bunch of Fun Packs that I bought and also three sets that were sent to me for free from Warner Bros. They are the Krusty the Clown Fun Pack, the Joker and Harley Quinn Team Pack and the Back to the Future Level Pack. I will be doing a bunch of videos about them soon and sharing my personal opinions.

We’ve been playing LEGO Dimensions every day since I opened the game and loving every minute of it. I love the humor, the references and the connections that are found in the game. It is really a fun one to play.

Today was Thursday so it is 10% off for Toys R Us card holders. I went over and found some things for Andrew’s birthday. They had Finding Dory erasers on clearance for $0.58 each and with and additional 10% off was an even better deal. They also had LEGO Dimensions fun packs on sale 3 for $25. I picked up Doc Brown, Stay Puft and Wonder Woman. I’ve been letting the kids open up a pack each day and assemble the character and vehicles. They have enjoyed that very much.

Today was also a day where I had to come in to work for a special meeting with some VPs. I’m going to hit my 15 year mark in 11 days. I started at my current company on September 19, 2001. When you hit 15 years you get an additional year of vacation. You also get invited to come and talk to some of the VPs. It is a roundtable discussion along with the other people who are hitting 15 years. You can submit some questions before the session and also ask some during the session. It was somewhat informative and overall interesting. However, there was one of those people in the session, one of those people who enjoys the sound of their own voice a little too much. That makes it frustrating. If you have ever been at a conference and they give people the chance to ask questions then you know what I am talking about. The type of person who gives a little speech about themselves before they actually ask a question, if they ask a question at all. Well, that was the type of person that was in our session. We would have ended on time instead of 30 minutes late if they would just ask an actual question.

Andrew’s First Day of School 2016

Andrew - First Day of School
Photo-A-Day #4165

Today was Andrew’s first day of school. He started his year of half day classes all week long. This gives me time to hit the gym all week long. The real test, however will be next Monday when I end up coming home from work and going right to drop Andrew off at school. I’m going to figure out how I’ll get sleep on Mondays. It will be interesting.

Andrew’s first day was a great one. He had a good time and made some new friends, he can’t remember the names of any of the kids except for a couple. That is to be expected from a four-year-old. He’s too busy being a kid to notice exactly who he’s playing with. Soon enough he’ll be asking me to go on playdates with some of the other kids in his class. He does like getting together and having fun with the other kids. Here is our conversation on the way to and from school today.
