PBS Kids is Launching a new 24/7 Channel and a Live Stream Monday

24 7 PBS Kids

Beginning Monday, a new TV channel and a live stream on digital platforms will be available through local stations. PBS stations across the nation will be able to broadcast favorite PBS KIDS shows such as CURIOUS GEORGE and WILD KRATTS 24 hours a day on an additional television channel and offer a live stream, making it easy for children to watch their favorite series during primetime and other after-school hours when viewing among families is high.

Nielsen data demonstrates that live TV is the dominant way children access video, accounting for 68% of the time children spend watching video content.  And most of kids’ TV viewing takes place on weeknights and weekend afternoons and evenings – especially within low-income families, underscoring PBS’ mission to reach all children with high quality, educational content.

Families will be able to access the new channel on-the-go with the digital live stream which complements on-demand clips and full episodes (these continue to be available for free on the PBS KIDS Video App and streaming via pbskids.org). Viewers will be able to watch the station-branded live stream through pbskids.org and on the PBS KIDS Video App, which is available on a variety of mobile devices, tablets and over-the-top platforms such as Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Xbox One and Chromecast.

Andrew Reviews It! Maui’s Magical Fishhook Role Play Toy

Maui Magical Fishhook
Photo-A-Day #4294

Andrew helps me out with a review today. We received a Maui’s Magical Fishhook toy from Jakks Pacific for free to review. Opinions are 100% our own.

This is a fun little toy where Andrew can pretend to be Maui from the movie Moana. When you swing the Fishhook around it lights up and makes sounds. You can also press a button to light up the fishhook. Andrew wanted this toy and so when we had a chance to review it I asked about it. He’s quite excited to pretend to be Maui, a character that he really enjoyed.

I know that Andrew would want to bring his new Maui’s MAgical Fishhook back to the theaters when the Moana Sing-A-Long version comes out on January 27th. He can’t but he’d want to. He’s also want to bring his Kakamora Maracas from the Moana Percussion Set (also from Jakks Pacific). Here are more details on the Sing-A-Long. Continue reading Andrew Reviews It!
