Voltron ’84 Classic Lions from Playmates Toys

Playmates Toys sent me a partial selection of the new Voltron Classic Lions figures for free to check out and review. Opinions are my own.

I was asked if I’d like to receive a partial sample of the new Voltron Classic ’84 Legendary Lion Collection. I figure, a partial sample is better than no sample so I agreed. I have been watching the new Voltron: Legendary Defender and the Voltron ’84 shows on Netflix and I am enjoying them very much. I had heard that there would be some Classic style Voltron Lions being produced and I am really impressed.

Here is some official information on the Classic Legendary Lions figures.

  • Combine all five Classic Legendary Lions to form a fully-articulated 16″ Classic Voltron figure with a chest that lights up and unlock over 60 sounds from the original 1984 show!
  • Each lion is fully articulated, with the Blue, Red, Green, and Yellow Lions including jaw blades and projectile firing battle accessories. Also, the Red Lion comes with Voltron’s sword and the Green Lion comes with Voltron’s shield.
  • The Classic Legendary Black Lion has electronic lights and features over a dozen phrases and sound effects from the original 1984 show. Unlock the Black Lion’s 60+ sounds by assembling the 16″ Classic Voltron figure.
  • The Black Lion transforms into the head and body of Voltron, while the four other Classic Legendary Lions transform and combine to form Voltron’s arms and legs.

Star Wars Rebels Season 4 Begins the End February 19th

I got really excited when I got this Press Release about Star Wars Rebels. I read the date wrong and thought it was tonight. Nope it is a month from now. But, that gives me time to get caught up on the season four episodes. I lowered our cable bill and lost Disney XD but maybe I can watch everything on the Disney Now app. I have been a fan of this series ever since I learned about it at Toy Fair from Freddie Prinze Jr. back in 2014. I was excited then and the show has been amazing in that time since. I am going to miss this show when it reaches the finale. I look forward to whatever surprises are ahead. The beginning of the end starts MONDAY, FEB. 19 (9:00 p.m. EST) when the critically-acclaimed animated series "Star Wars Rebels" returns to Disney XD with new episodes as the series nears its grand finale. The final episodes will unfold over three weeks, with two back-to- back episodes premiering every Monday night on Disney XD, until its epic 90-minute conclusion on MONDAY, MARCH 5 (8:30 p.m. EST). As teased in a new "Star Wars Rebels" trailer, Emperor Palpatine makes his series debut in these final episodes, voiced by actor Ian McDiarmid who reprises this iconic role from the "Star Wars" live-action films.
