Being a child of the 80’s I grew up watching He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Toward the end of the He-Man run in 1985 a new hero was introduced in her own show. The new heroine was She-Ra, Princess of Power. She was the long lost twin sister of Prince Adam (He-Man’s Alter ego) and she was orphaned in the world of Etheria. She grew up under the tutelage of Hordax, the evil guy who enslaved the place. While She-Ra was never on the He-Man show, He-Man and his cast of characters were on the She-Ra show, probably to hook in the fans of He-Man as this new show was introduced.
Fast forward to November 2018 (It’ll be here very soon) and we have a whole new She-Ra show, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. Note the plural there. We are going to have She-Ra and her own cast of characters who will be fighting the Evil, Hordak and his minions. The cast looks amazing and I love that it is lead by the wonderful Aimee Carrero. I interviewed her once for her role on Young and Hungry. She was delightful. I know she will do a great job.
What I wonder here is, will this show provide a gateway to a spin-off of a new He-Man and the Masters of the Universe show? I can hope. I also want to know how they will explain the “For the Honor of Grayskull” call out that transforms Adora into She-Ra. Castle Grayskull is on Eternia, not Etheria. How will that be explained? I’ll have to watch and see.
Take a look at the teaser trailer below. Then after that more info about the show and some additional photos.
