Eva has been finding her own voice as of late. She’s finding more of her own music suited to her tastes. She’s also rediscovering things that she has had in her life from a very early age. Some of those things are a set of toys that I got her several years ago. They are female super heroes based on principals and qualities instead of specific powers. When I first learned about the I Am Elemental action figures I knew that they would be the perfect action figures for Eva. The company made them to have real world bodies and be focused more on characteristics and qualities than being characters themselves.
The first set was called the Elements of Courage. The Courage set includes: Bravery, Energy, Honesty, Industry, Enthusiasm, Persistence, and Fear. I funded the original I Am Elemental: Elements of Courage set back in 2013 or 2014 on Kickstarter. They arrived in time for Christmas 2014 and that is when Eva received her set. They came in a collector’s lunchbox and I have this great picture of her hugging the lunchbox and setting up each of her figures. I had gotten these because I figured that they would inspire her creativity to write and create. I was not wrong. She has been covering her walls with all sorts of quotes from people, music and movies. She’s using her creativity to express herself in many ways. I am thrilled to see that she has included these toys in her room decor.
The other seven figures are from the second series of I Am Elemental toys and they are the Elements of Wisdom. They include: Creativity, Ingenuity, Curiosity, Logic, Exploration, Mastery, and Oblivion. The first series made a 6.5″ figure called Courage which had all the elements of the 3.5″ figures and was modeled after Joan of Arc. They did not make a Wisdom figure, yet. I do hope that they continue to make additional sets of figures and then a collected 6.5″ figure. I’d love to see that continue and inspire more kids.
