Photo-A-Day #2050
Tonight I attended the launch party for Boston Parent Bloggers. This was held at the Barefoot Books store in Concord, MA. I had never heard of Barefoot Books before but now that I have I am in love. You already know that I occasionally do reviews of children’s books with Eva. I used to do it at Read To Me, Dad but I decided to just incorporate that into this blog. So I’ll be doing more of those sort of posts as well.
While I was there I met many of the people connected with Barefoot Books including one of the founders. Everyone was so wonderful and the space is amazing. I wish there was something like this near me. We talked about the stories, what the company is doing in social media and the possibility of doing some apps online. Right now they have a podcast and some beautiful videos on Youtube. I told you earlier that I fell in love with the place. It is wonderful. There is a creative space where they do children’s yoga classes, cooking classes and so much more. Everything about the space will fill a child with wonder. The books are beautiful with amazing illustrations and stories from around the world. I think that is one thing that really impressed me, I bought a book of Ballet stories and the stories are from all over the world. The books do not dumb things down for children either. I wanted to take all the books home. Sadly I could not and I didn’t win the prize pack but what can you do, I can’t win everything. I was excited to see that when I got home and unloaded not one but two swag bags there was a book from Barefoot Books in the bag.
Oh man the swag bags were over the top, there are so many great things in the bag from so many great sponsors!
The food was catered by Peapod and there was so much of it that I actually came home with a full cheese platter that included raspberries and blackberries. Delicious! There were cups of Stonyfield Yogurt too and I took a few of them home, wishing I had taken more but didn’t want to be a pig about it. Everything about the night was very fun. There were even great raffle prizes (I didn’t win but in no way walked away empty handed that is for sure).
The founders of Boston Parent Bloggers are Jodi Grundig and Christy Matte. They pulled together an amazing event. I can’t wait to attend another event.
I also met a bunch of people that I had only known about through Twitter. It was also very cool to run into people that I had met before at previous events. I love the connections that one makes through blogging. So many great and wonderful people!

Wowza, I can’t believe you wrote about it after you got home. Impressive. It was a fantastic party & I am already looking forward to hanging out with my blogger buddies again soon.
Robin,
It would be unfair for me to make you think I wrote this last night. I wrote it this morning. I backdated it because the photo was taken yesterday. I sometimes write the day after about the day before. Just date it correctly so I can go back to it in the history. I’m not superman.
