Photo-A-Day #2131
We received SIX boxes of Barefoot Books today. Allison and I placed a huge order to get ourselves started. Allison and I had a fun time going through all of the books and checking out everything that we ordered. We put together display boxes and Allison made some stickers with our contact info to put on order forms. We’re almost ready to have an open house and also get out there to the Farmer’s Market and craft fairs. We’re both pretty pumped.
We also started reading a few of the books to Eva. I think we need to screen them first because there was one book of Celtic stories that had to do with someone being accused of killing someone. I did some creative editing on the fly. Then I totally screwed it up. The story had a titled that was something like The Claw. So At the end I put my hand up like a claw and went “Rawr!”. I’m pretty sure that I’m going to be up with a very afraid kid at some point this evening. She jumped about a foot and a half and then right into Allison’s arms. I felt so bad. Big old Daddy Fail.
Today I received an inquiry from a reporter in Tampa. He was doing a story on people who have had their Kindle’s signed. He found my photo of Gary Vaynerchuk signing my Kindle. He was the first signature that I got on that. Next I had Jim Kukral sign it, Scott Stratten signed it and so did Peter Shankman and Steve Garfield. I messed up and missed getting it signed by Jonathan Fields (I couldn’t find a sharpie). It was a good call and I’m excited to see if other people are doing this too. There are many more people that I would like to have sign it as well.
Oh Wait, back to the Barefoot Books. Over at QAQN Daniel and I revised the contest rules. Head over to the Geek Dads Weekly Barefoot Books Contest post and enter. You could win 5 Barefoot Books that you selected or you can elect to have Daniel and I choose them for you.
Hopefully your edits made it not so scary.
Deborah,
It did until I scared her myself. Sheesh, still feel bad about that one.
So excited you’re doing this. My friend just had a baby and even though he’s too little to read now, he needs to get ready for school early! 🙂
Stop scaring Eva!
Thanks Dina,
There is a great set of board books for babies from Barefoot Books. And it is never too early to read to them.
I will try to stop scaring her.
