Falmouth Heights Fourth of July 2015

Photo-A-Day #3739

This year’s Fourth of July festivities included the annual neighborhood parade, a family cookout and a perfect night of fireworks. We got up and got ready for the Annual Dartmouth Neighborhood Parade. Dad decorated the wagon and I tried to get Eva to ride the Mobo Cruiser in the parade but she wants to wait until next year for that one. When she isn’t confident in her ability about something she won’t be doing it. I did attach an American flag to the post but at least so we could take a photo.

She did go up in front of everyone at the start of the parade and she sang with my Mom and with Andrew. While she did start out talking to the crowd and explaining how they were going to sing, “Grand Old Flag”. She got nervous and stopped talking. My Mom took over and then they were good once they started to sing. She was much more confident once the singing started.

I took a ton of photos during the parade and then even more during the fireworks at night. We had a nice cookout with everyone, too. After dinner we took a walk over to Shelby’s in-laws place. The kids had fun running around with the other kids. Andrew enjoyed playing with some of the older kids by taking a small plastic shovel to a soccer ball.

We couldn’t have asked for a better night on the beach for fireworks. It was clear, no wind and perfect temperature. Both kids were still awake when the fireworks started. Andrew, however, fell asleep hard right before the finale.

I took the photos using the Samsung NX500 on Fireworks Mode. I am so impressed with how well it worked. I was even able to pick up a few of the fireworks that were going off over on the island.
