What a time for me to change around our cable bill and lose Disney XD. On October 16th Star Wars Rebels returns with their final season. Season Four will be the culmination of one of the best Star Wars Series ever, in my opinion. The story of these characters who have interwoven through the fabric of the Star Wars mythos has been full of adventure, heart and wonder. The characters have undergone much development through the series. Watch the trailer and I dare you not to be moved by it.
One character who underwent a huge transformation throughout the series is Kanan. Kanan Jarrus, a lone padawan who survived Order 66 grew into a full Jedi and trained a young boy who would also become a Jedi. Kanan was blinded by Darth Maul at the end of Season 2 and through Season 3 grew to be an even more effective Jedi and Master to Ezra.
Ezra is still an impulsive boy but is growing into his role as a Jedi as well. No longer struggling between the dark and the light side of the force, he is firmly on the side of the Rebels and continues to improve his skills with the lightsaber and also as a pilot.
Hera continues to grow into a strong tactician. We know that she will become a general when the events of Rogue One occur. We also see the Ghost is present in the movie. In the trailer we see Hera doing some butt kicking of her own and I do hope that we will see a moment where Kanan and Hera’s feelings for each other are discussed. These two need a positive resolution to that relationship.
Another character who has grown tremendously has been Sabine Wren. She is becoming even more of a force to be reckoned with. Will she become the true leader of her people or will she find another to take that role. What role will the dark saber play in this story? Will the return of Bo-Katan have a big meaning regarding this? I can’t wait to see!
With Agent Kallus no longer part of the Empire and just going by Kallus, will we see him take on a bigger role in the rebellion? Will the Rebels accept him and trust him after what he has done in his past in the name of the Empire?
The Rebels will still have to contend with Grand Admiral Thrawn. He has proven to be a smart, patient and deadly adversary to the rebellion. He will continue to hunt and hound the crew of the Ghost.
Season four looks like it will be incredibly exciting and moving. I will be sad to see it go but I will enjoy watching how it will get there. More about the fourth and final season below.
