I’ve made some changes to this blog so that it loads quicker. I am hoping that is what I accomplished. I have received many messages about the speed of the load of this blog. So I took off many of the little buttons that were on the sidebars and put them on my links page. I need to now clean up the Links page. I also moved MyBlogLog, BlogCatalog and SpicyPage to the footer. So this should allow the content to load quicker. Also I am making it so that the image loads and when you click More you get to read my ramblings as well as see any bonus images. I also limited the number of entries on the front page to 5. Hopefully this has made things load faster. Also I think it might look right in Internet Explorer now. Please leave me feedback on the changes. I would like to know what you think.

much faster. When now I can get caught up on work with all the time I am saving
I certainly hope that you can get more work done, that is what I am here for.
I need to do that! Did you have to change anything in the code or just put it in the footer? If you’d email me about it I’d appreciate it.
I have your Photo aday on My Road http://www.chatbugkaren.com/myroad
and Winding Threads now!

I love your pictures.
Hi Karen,
I changed the code for each of the widgets and then added it to the code for the footer. The footer loads last so now the content should load quicker. I’ll add your other blogs to the Photo-A-Day hosts list too, thanks so much for hosting.
It loaded very quickly for me!
Thanks Lynne,
I hope that this new look makes the blog more efficient.
Seems to be much better, plus it wasn’t such a dramatic change, where we didn’t recognize the site. Sometimes when people do a total redesign to make things run faster it just doesn’t work. Good Job!
Hey Drew,
The page loads much better my friend. The layout looks good with the viewers at the bottom. Hope you have a great time down here in our part of the country. Have a safe trip..
Jay
yes, your efforts paid off! Great job! thanks for giving me an idea on what to do with mine!
I’ve just started a new blog but I have noticed my old one is taking a lot longer to load than the new one, and I have to put it down to all the widgets and buttons etc.
You’ve given me a good idea with the bloglog footer thing too.
Thanks Justin,
I figured that I had some many things that weren’t really needed so I streamlined things a bit. I like the overall look of the place just wanted to to load better, thanks for the feedback.
Hey there Jay,
I’ve been enjoying being down in the southern part of the country. Very relaxing. Should have some great photos this afternoon. Glad you like the new look.
Thanks Fez,
Glad you like the changes. And thanks for the feedback.
Thanks Motordude. I noticed that the widgets was where the site locked up so I moved them to a place where they would load last so that the important stuff like the content would load quickly. I’ll check out your blog, thanks for dropping by and commenting.
Yes…much quicker! I also stole your idea of putting the MyBlogLog stuff at the bottom of the page. I needed to do this for my cats’ blog, which I just re-vamped today (purrfectwebsite.com). I also put Photo-A-Day on that blog, as well.
I see you found c-m dot net…thanks for adding me to the PAD blogroll!
Thanks Christine. I will add purrfectwebsite.com on the Photo-A-Day blogroll. Glad you like the new look. Wow, you have even more blogs than I do now. Busy,Busy.
You are a GENIUS. It never even occurred to me that I could put MBL, BC, and Bumpzee in the footer. I’ve noticed that Bumpzee especially makes my page load really slowly. Also, as much as I want to promote sites like Maya’s Mom and sk*rt, I have too darn many buttons and badges on my sidebars. Great idea to put them on a links page. Thanks so much!
I wouldn’t say genius. Just interested in getting this blog to load faster. Glad that you liked the ideas I worked on. I have seen this load much faster and am very glad about that. I may have to slowly work some of the buttons back in over time. But now my sidebars are slightly less widget heavy and that has been a sticking point with many people.
